| es_MX |

En | "The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of vermicompost tea on the growth and production of jalapeño. During the 2011 crop season fallwinter the genotype jalapeño pepper Hechicero (Harris Moran®), was evaluated in five fertilization treatments: F1 = sand + inorganic nutrient solution; F2 = sand ix + vermicompost tea at 10 % of concentration; F3 = sand + compost mixture (1:1, v:v) + vermicompost tea at 2.5 % of concentration; F4 = mixture of sand + vermicompost (1:1, v:v) + vermicompost tea at 2.5 % of concentration and F5 = mixture of sand + compost + vermicompost (ratio 2:1:1, v:v) + vermicompost tea at 2.5 % of concentration. The treatments were arranged in a completely randomized design. The dynamics of growth, fruit weight, fruit size (length and diameter equatorial), pulp thickness, number of fruits per plant, number of locules and the total yield were evaluated. The highest yield was obtained in the F4 and F5 fertilizer source with an average of 64.3 Mg ha-1 without altering the quality of the fruit. It is concluded, that was possible to satisfy the nutrient demand of the jalapeño pepper using vermicompost tea alone or in combination with the mixture of sand + compost + vermicompost, so it has potential as an alternative to produce organic jalapeño pepper under protected conditions." | es_MX |
