| es_MX |

En | "The work was done at the experimental station of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro, Campus Laguna (UAAANUL). Crosses were generated in summer 2010, and evaluated in spring and summer, both seasons in 2011. Six inbred lines were used, three from the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) and three from UAAANUL’s maize breeding program. The objective was to obtain estimates of general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA), as well as the average degree of heterosis for grain yield and agronomic traits. Cycle (spring-summer) had significance (P<0.01 and 0.05) for grain yield, yield components and flowering. The SCA effects were more important for grain yield, diameter and length of ear, and male flowering; the remain variables were for GCA. The higher effect of GCA for grain yield (RG) was observed in P24 (435 t ha-1) and for SCA, the cross 23 x 24 showed the most 9 positive and significant effect (1620.7 Kg ha-1) followed by four additional crosses, also it was the highest yield of grain. The average heterosis was higher than 20% only for weight of thousand seeds (PMIL) and RG. For grain yield (RG), the higher percentage of heterosis was found in the cross 26x27" | es_MX |
